Rules of Evidence - Validity

The course explores Validity as a Rule of Evidence as stated in Clause 1.8 of the Standards for RTOs 2015. On completion of this course students will be able to:
Describe the requirements of Validity as a Rule of Evidence
Describe the function and components of a Unit of Competency
Describe the function and components of Assessment Requirements
Define explicit evidence and explain the importance of explicit evidence
Describe strategies that can be used to ensure assessment evidence is valid
Describe how assessment mapping can be used as a tool to ensure valid assessment evidence
Describe the importance and functions of the National Register for Vocational Education and Training (training.gov.au)
Describe the importance of documentary evidence of valid assessment
Understand the responsibilities of assessors to be assured that the evidence demonstrates that all UOC and Assessment Requirement components have been explicitly assessed as satisfactory before determining a competent result
