Course Outcomes

The course explores Sufficiency as a Rule of Evidence as stated in Clause 1.8 of the Standards for RTOs 2015. On completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Describe the requirements of Sufficiency as a Rule of Evidence

  • Describe the characteristics of quality evidence

  • Identify assessment requirements that relate to quantity of evidence or other assessment evidence factors

  • Describe the characteristics of reliable evidence

  • Identify assessment tools and instruments that will not draw sufficient evidence to make a competency decision.

  • Identify and describe assessment implementation issues that result in the collection of insufficient evidence

  • Describe techniques and strategies to ensure assessment tools are implemented in a way that ensures the collection of sufficient evidence.
